First-years Aaron Davenport and Tim Pettit each took seventh place while Mark Frye and senior Kevin Chilton took sixth place. First-year Brian Broll and sophomore Roman Villegas finished strong with each getting eighth place.
The team traveled to Coe College in Cedar Rapids Wednesday night to take on the Cohawks but fell short. Senior Tyler Winkleman beat, fifth-ranked 174 pound Seth Rehn. The Cohawks are ranked third and have a 43-3 record.
“It feels pretty good to get a win against a quality opponent. It helps to build confidence and gives me something to build off of,” Winkleman said.
The Beavers are now 0-3 and will head to Indianola Saturday for the Simpson College Invitational at 9 p.m. Their next home meet next Tuesday hosting Northwestern College and Morningside College at 6:30 and 8 p.m. respectively.
