Academic Affairs (AA) has passed a proposal to dissolve the Designated Writing Course (DWC) Program effective Dec. 2008 during their meeting held on Wednesday. "We are recommending the plan for faculty development to continue encouraging writing within the majors and stressing writing within all the classes, but not necessarily the paper work dealing with the DWC," Mary Mello-Nee, chair of academic affairs, said. Buena Vista University (BVU) has signed agreements with all of its community college partners around the state finalizing the Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) Program. North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is the last institution BVU is working with to make an agreement. (0) comments

The Buena Vista University (BVU) Office of Admissions has been recently hosting several student visit days on campus. These visits are revised versions of the typical fall visit days current students may remember from their past experiences. The Office of Admissions has established several days throughout the semester that are day-long interactive experiences for high school junior and senior students who have expressed interest in the academic programs that BVU offers. According to the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) the business school admission exam, the number of tests taken worldwide in the past two years has increased far faster than in previous years.
