BVU's men's golf team took seventh as a team during the 2008 Iowa Conference Men's Golf Championship on Saturday, May 3 in Decorah.

Two BVU golfers finished in the top five individually following the third and final round.
Junior Josh Reed finished in second place with a final round of 77 (+15 overall).

"In the end, I am very proud of the way I played," Reed said. "My immediate feelings after the tournament was over was disappointment when I lost by a shot. Since then I've had time to reflect and take a lot of positives from it. I'll just have to go out and win it next year."

Senior Tim Murphy finished in a tie for fifth with a final round of 75 (+14 overall).

"I also would like to congratulate Tim Murphy," Reed said. "It was his last tournament of his collegiate career."

Murphy transferred here last year and has made All-Conference during both of his two years here.

"He has been a great teammate and friend over the past two years. I will miss having him on the team," Reed said. "As for the team, I think we made some strides. The new guys got some valuable experience in their first conference tournament. Round three we actually had moved up a spot as we finally put up one of our best rounds of the year. We should build on that."

Junior Ryan Schimp (86), sophomre Nick Fara (85) and senior Devin Stewart (95) round out the scores for BVU from the third round. The Beavers return to the links this fall.
